HCMC – In response to the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front’s call, organizations and individuals nationwide have donated VND775.5 billion to support residents affected by the recent storm and ongoing flooding in northern Vietnam as of September 13.
The Central Relief Mobilization Committee has allocated the first installment of VND388.5 billion to local relief committees. The remaining funds will be distributed to other affected localities in the near future.
To ensure transparency, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee has publicly released bank statements of contributions from September 1 to September 10. Information about donations will be regularly updated and made public.
According to the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention, as of September 13, typhoon Yagi and ensuing flooding have resulted in 254 deaths, with 82 people still missing. Recovery efforts, led by local authorities, are focused on locating the missing and helping residents rebuild their lives.
