HCMC – A consortium comprising Son Hai, Vinaconex and Lizen has proposed the early operation of a 70-kilometer section of the Van Phong–Nha Trang Expressway to accommodate a surge in travel demand during the Lunar New Year holiday in early 2025.
According to the proposal, the stretch from the Nha Trang–Cam Lam Expressway to the Van Gia Intersection is recommended to open by January 10, 2025.
The project management unit has acknowledged the proposal and will collaborate with contractors to carry out a detailed inspection and evaluation. A report will be prepared for submission to the Ministry of Transport.
The Van Phong–Nha Trang Expressway spans over 83 kilometers through Khanh Hoa Province. Designed with four lanes, the expressway has a width of 17 meters and supports a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour.
The total cost of the project exceeds VND11,800 billion.
This expressway is among the fastest-progressing projects under phase two of the North-South Expressway initiative. It is slated for completion by April 30, 2025, in line with the Prime Minister’s directive, which accelerates the timeline by around eight months compared to the original plan.
