HCMC – Le Hoai Trung, chairman of the Central Commission for External Relations, was assigned by the Politburo to hold the post of chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee this morning, February 3.
He takes over the new position from Nguyen Duy Ngoc, who was recently elected as chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
Trung, who is 64 years old, hails from Hue City. He holds a Ph.D. in law, a master’s degree in international law and diplomacy, and is a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee, as well as a member of the 13th Secretariat.
Before being appointed as the Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee, Trung had a long stint at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held the position of Deputy Minister.
Since March 2021, he has served as chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations. In October 2023, he was elected to the Secretariat of the 13th Party Central Committee.
