HCMC – Party General Secretary To Lam on October 27 met with Lao Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune at the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) headquarters in Hanoi City, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, who is also a Politburo member and head of the high-ranking Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) delegation, is in Vietnam to attend the 12th theoretical workshop between the CPV and the LPRP.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Laos reached US$2.4 billion in the first nine months of 2025, up 57.1% year-on-year.
Vietnam’s exports to Laos totaled US$884.5 million, a 79.9% increase from the same period last year, while its imports from Laos rose 46% to US$1.5 billion.
