HCMC – The 13th Party Central Committee (PCC) will be discussing personnel issues, among others, for the next term of the PCC as the PCC began its 10th plenum this morning, September 18.
On the afternoon of September 18, the Party Central Committee (PCC) Office announced the agenda of the ongoing plenum.
This morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, a member of the Politburo, presided over the session.
PCC members observed a minute of silence in memory of the residents and soldiers killed by the recent typhoon Yagi and ensuing flooding and landslides, and donated funds to support the victims.
After the opening session, the PCC was discussing the draft of a political report for the 14th National Party Congress, which is expected to take place in early 2026, and another addressing theoretical and practical issues related to the 40-year socialist-oriented reform process in Vietnam.
In the afternoon, the committee was working in groups to discuss the draft review report on the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030, including the directions and tasks for economic and social development for 2026-2030; the draft review report on the implementation of the 2024 socio-economic development plan, and the proposed plan for socio-economic development in 2025.
A report on the implementation of the State budgeting plan for 2024, the State budget forecast for 2025; the financial and State budget plan for three years from 2025 to 2027; and the investment proposal for the construction of the North-South high-speed rail line, was also discussed.
Personnel matters will be the focus of group discussions in the evening, including those related to the 13th PCC and orientations for the PCC of the 14th term.
