This action requires the pioneering role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs with a determined, enthusiastic spirit and strategic vision.

Green growth and green products are new approaches in the economic development of countries worldwide, including Vietnam. This trend serves as the foundation for sustainable development as it not only brings about economic benefits but also helps restoring and conserving natural ecosystems. Among those, green construction products have become typical and essential in promoting a green economy and circular economy.

Phuc Khang Corporation is known as a pioneer in developing green buildings. Among PKC’s outstanding green building projects is the high-end Diamond Lotus Riverside apartment complex (located at 49C Le Quang Kim Street, Ward 8, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City), which is constructed and registered in accordance with the LEED standards of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the LOTUS standards of the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC). The project has been awarded with the “Top 5 Best Smart Green Building Projects in 2021”, “Top 10 Best High-End Apartment Projects in 2022”, “Project Worth Living in 2022”, gained recognition of LOTUS Provisional certification, and is expected to achieve gold level certification in the full certification stage.

The strategic vision of PKC, the pioneer in developing green projects, originates from CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau, the co-founder of the corporation. The businesswoman grasped the trend of greenization in global production and consumption from the very early days. Over 10 years ago, CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau recognized the pivotal role of green construction and understood the trend of green growth. “Sustainable development means showing our social responsibility to future generations, and without compromising the benefits of the next generation. The sustainable development solutions which could be resolved by green projects can help achieve that,” highlighted CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau.

According to the PKC leader, energy-balanced projects are a responsible contribution made by businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in alignment with the national action goals and global trends. Therefore, since 2015, Luu Thi Thanh Mau has undertaken numerous trade promotion trips with foreign partners, particularly with major partners in Japan, to learn about the development of energy-balanced green projects.

In 2017, Phuc Khang Corporation established a multi-million-dollar joint venture with Mitsubishi, a Japanese multinational corporation, under the name of Phuc Khang Mitsubishi Corporation Holding (PKMC). At that time, the two corporations agreed that Mitsubishi Corporation (holding a 49% stake) and Phuc Khang Corporation (holding a 51% stake) would pursue the objective of Phuc Khang Mitsubishi Corporation Holding (PKMC) which is to develop the Diamond Lotus product line, the first high-rise apartment project in Vietnam which was built, managed, and operated according to LEED standards, which are reputable and widely recognized green building standards in 150 countries worldwide. Diamond Lotus Riverside is an exemplary product symbolizing the cooperation with Japanese businesses, showing clearly the efforts made by businesswoman Luu Thi Thanh Mau.

Further promote trade and expand cooperation with Japanese businesses

In the middle of March, in her role as vice chairman of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2022-2025 term, CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau made a business trip to enhance cooperation with Japan. Specifically, she accompanied the delegation of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association to visit and sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation with the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Japan. During the trip, she also participated in activities at the 43rd National Conference organized by Japan’s Young Entrepreneurs Association. This event aims to promote cooperation and connections between young entrepreneurs in Japan and their peers from ASEAN member countries, exchanging experiences and promoting trade for the mutual development of young entrepreneurs in Japan and the ASEAN region.

The business trip of CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau this time reaffirms her aspiration to expand the development of green projects internationally, which could pave the way for new collaborations benefiting the enterprise and elevating the position of Vietnamese brands in the future.

According to the CEO of green projects, Japan is not only one of the world’s largest economies but also renowned for advanced technology and high-quality management. Through collaboration, Vietnamese entrepreneurs can get access to investment capital and new technologies, and expand business markets. Additionally, this contributes to promoting the development of domestic industries, creating a diverse and healthy competitive business environment. Collaborating with Japan also helps enhance management skills and supply chains, thereby boosting innovation and creativity in business.

Maintaining relations with strategic partners that have experiences in developing green projects and energy-balanced projects, as well as seizing learning opportunities from business trips to promote trade between Vietnam and Japan are the efforts that CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau has made to promote green project development for a sustainable future.

It is believed that with the aspiration to create green projects and urban areas meeting international standards in Vietnam, along with efforts and an enhanced collaboration with Japanese partners, the PKC leader will achieve many more successes, contributing to enhancing the reputation and position of Vietnamese entrepreneurs regionally and internationally.
