HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved an uninterrupted five-day break during the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holiday.
The Government Office this afternoon, April 12, issued a statement announcing the PM’s approval of the exchange of the regular working day on Monday, April 29, for a compensatory day for the upcoming holiday.
Specifically, the workday on April 29 will be exchanged for Saturday, May 4, allowing workers to enjoy an uninterrupted five-day break from April 27 to May 1.
Since Reunification Day this year falls on Tuesday and International Labor Day on Wednesday, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs earlier proposed a straight five-day break during the upcoming national holiday.
The five-day holiday would stimulate tourism demand, enhance consumption, and boost economic growth.
