PM attends ASEAN Summits in Laos

HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh left Hanoi this morning for Vientiane, Laos, to attend the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related high-level meetings.

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and ASEAN Chair for 2024, Sonexay Siphandone, PM Chinh will take part in ASEAN’s most important activities of the year.

The summits will bring together leaders from ASEAN countries, Timor-Leste, and 10 ASEAN partners, along with representatives from regional and international organizations.

Accompanying PM Chinh are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy, and other senior government officials.

The summit agenda will focus on the progress of building the ASEAN Community, including efforts to finalize the Master Plans for 2025 and develop the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, along with strategies for implementation in the coming years.

Leaders will also review and endorse 80 documents on various cooperation priorities both within ASEAN and between ASEAN and its partners.
