HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has told the Ministry of Transport to complete the construction of 3,000 kilometers of expressway by 2025.
According to PM Chinh, the funding plan will focus on traffic infrastructure, particularly with expressway development projects.
Constructing expressways nationwide is a top priority in the current tenure of the Government, laying the groundwork for the national railway system renovation in the years to come, he noted.
The PM suggested developing a high-speed rail line between Hanoi and HCMC, with maximum speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
He asked the Ministry of Transport to cooperate closely with the relevant agencies to expedite the development of major projects, including the Long Thanh International Airport.
The PM praised the ministry’s efforts to complete major tasks in 2022, namely preparing for the launch of 12 component projects of the North-South expressway early this year and keeping the works under construction on track.
