PM wants Dong Nai to become new growth engine

HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on Dong Nai Province to become a new economic center in Vietnam, urging accelerated growth through infrastructure development, technological advancement, and enhanced social welfare.

Speaking at a meeting with the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee today, September 24, PM Chinh emphasized the province’s potential to play a part in global production and supply chains by leveraging its infrastructure, including airports, highways and seaports.

The PM also encouraged local authorities to streamline administrative procedures related to land and investment, making it easier for businesses to operate. He stressed the need for a balance between economic growth, environmental protection, social welfare, and security.

Dong Nai’s economy is expected to grow by 7.2% this year, according to Vo Tan Duc, chairman of the provincial government. The province recorded a 6.8% increase in gross regional domestic product in the first half of the year.
