HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed government agencies and local authorities to review and submit reports on delayed investment projects by February 15, according to a government directive.
The directive, outlined in Official Dispatch No. 13/CD-TTg, calls for urgent action to identify and resolve project bottlenecks, aiming to accelerate economic development and minimize financial waste.
A special task force, led by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, was established under Decision No. 1568 to oversee the process.
As of February 7, only 33 localities and nine central government agencies had submitted reports to the Ministry of Planning and Investment. The initial deadline for submission was January 20.
The prime minister has now given 30 non-compliant localities and relevant ministries until February 15 to submit their reports. Those failing to comply must provide explanations by February 17. State-owned enterprises must report to the Ministry of Finance, which will compile findings for the prime minister’s review.
Failure to meet the deadline will result in inspections by the Government Inspectorate, and the Government may impose penalties in line with anti-corruption and waste prevention policies.
