HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for intensified efforts to expedite the construction of Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC so that it can be inaugurated in time for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam in late April 2025.
He gave this directive during his field trip to the project site on February 12, the third day of the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet.
He stressed the importance of completing the new terminal by April 30, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s history.
Vu The Phiet, general director of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the Terminal T3 project investor, said ACV would try to finish work on the project in late April next year as instructed by the PM.
The February 12 visit to the project construction site was the fourth which PM Pham Minh Chinh had made, which underscored the Government’s commitment to its timely completion.
Designed to accommodate 20 million passengers per year, Terminal T3 would have one basement and four levels, with a total floor area of 112,000 square meters.
The project requires nearly VND11 trillion, of which nearly VND2.4 trillion has been disbursed.
Work started on the project on August 31, 2023.
