HCMC – The Politburo issued a disciplinary warning against Duong Van An, former secretary of Binh Thuan Province’s Party Committee, while the Secretariat expelled two officials from the Party.
On January 10, the Politburo and the Secretariat reviewed and took disciplinary actions against the Party members who committed violations or shortcomings.
After reviewing a proposal from the Central Inspection Commission, the Politburo determined that An violated Party regulations and state laws in carrying out his duties, particularly in anti-corruption, wastefulness reduction, and addressing negative behaviors, during his tenure as Party secretary of Binh Thuan Province (from October 2020 to March 2024).
He also violated Party rules regarding what members are banned from doing and their responsibility to act as a role model.
These actions led to severe consequences, including substantial damage to the state budget, negative public perception, and a decline in trust in both the Party and local government.
Le O Pich, during his tenure as a member of Bac Giang Province’s Party Committee’s Standing Committee and vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province, and Ly Vinh Quang, while serving as a member of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee and vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son Province, were found to have committed violations.
Based on the violations committed by the aforementioned Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a warning to Duong Van An in accordance with Party regulations.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat decided to expel Le O Pich and Ly Vinh Quang from the Party.
