HCMC – The Politburo announced the new heads of the Central Economic Commission and the Central Mass Mobilization Commission at a ceremony held in Hanoi today, August 21, presided over by Party General Secretary and President To Lam.
Deputy Prime Miniter Tran Luu Quang, a native of Tay Ninh Province born in 1967, was picked as head of the Central Economic Commission.
He is responsible for giving advise on developing the economy and formulating major strategies for socioeconomic development, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Mai Van Chinh, a native of Long An Province born in 1961 and currently deputy head of the Central Organization Commission, now leads the Central Mass Mobilization Commission.
His role will involve providing strategic advice on policies related to mass mobilization, including working with ethnic minorities, religious groups, and overseas Vietnamese, with the goal of fostering national unity.
Party chief To Lam said both appointees are seasoned leaders who have risen through the ranks, and participated in multiple Party Central Committee terms.
They possess extensive experience and expertise in advisory, leadership, and management roles, achieving significant results in their assigned areas, he added.
