PV Power gains handsome profits in 2023

HCMC – PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), whose POW shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, said that it gained hefty revenue and profit in 2023.

The company reported revenue of around VND30.6 trillion in 2023, up 6% over the previous year. Its after-tax profit reached more than VND1.19 trillion, beating the target by 7%.

In 2024, the company’s objective is to achieve a total electricity production of 16,703 billion kWh. The revenue and after-tax profit targets in 2024 are set at around VND31.7 trillion and VND824 billion, respectively.

Closing the trading session today, January 12, POW fell by 1.72% against yesterday’s session to VND11,450, with nearly 8.3 million shares transacted.

With losers tripling winners by 380 to 132, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange shed 7.52 points, or 0.65%, day-on-day at 1,154.7 points.

More than 1.09 billion shares worth VND22.7 trillion changed hands on the southern market, rising by 26.74% and 31.38% against the previous session, respectively. Block deals contributed VND1.25 trillion to the overall value, with 47.73 million shares transacted.

The VN30 basket saw eight stocks rising, with lender MBB being the top performer. MBB took the lead by liquidity in the market with 45.9 million shares traded, closing the session at VND21,350, an increase of 3.4% day-on-day.

ACB increased by 2.2% to VND25,800 at the close, reaching its all-time high. In the past month, ACB shares have surged by over 15%.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index lost 2.39 points, or 1.03% day-on-day, at 230.31 points, with 52 advancers and 119 decliners. The total trading volume reached more than 98.27 million, valued at nearly VND1.9 trillion.
