HCMC – A new air route connecting Quang Ninh Province and Can Tho City will be launched on April 25 with three weekly flights, thus boosting cooperation in transport and tourism.
According to the Quang Ninh Province Department of Tourism, from April 25, the new air service between Quang Ninh and Can Tho will help realize a plan to welcome around 12 million tourists from the Mekong Delta to Quang Ninh.
The air service between Van Don and Can Tho international airports will help reduce transport costs between the South and the North, and create favorable conditions for agro-products of the Mekong Delta region, such as rice, fruits and pangasius, to be quickly shipped to the Chinese market.
Besides, Quang Ninh and Can Tho will coordinate to promote logistics development in the upcoming time.
Vietjet Air is the carrier that has been, to date, licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to operate the flights between Tra Noc in Can Tho and Van Don in Quang Ninh.
Quang Ninh authorities said that local tourism companies had developed ample tourism products for guests coming from the Mekong Delta region, such as tours and excursions in Halong and Bai Tu Long bays, the Yen Tu relic site, tours to the Vietnamese-Chinese border areas and Vietnam’s other upland provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang.
