HCMC – The Chinese authority has requested the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate in the northern province of Quang Ninh to suspend customs clearance just two days after its reopening, the local authority reported.
According to a notice from China, the border gate will be shut down from September 28 to October 7 for Covid-19 prevention measures.
Previously, the border gate of Bac Phong Sinh in Quang Ninh and its sister border gate Lihou in China officially reopened on September 26 after a seven-month suspension due to China’s zero Covid-19 policy.
The volume of cargo passing through these border gates accounts for only a small proportion of the total amount of imports and exports in Quang Ninh Province.
After two days of reopening, on September 26 and 27, the local authority recorded that only two trucks with imported products from China went through the Bac Phong Sinh border gate.
Currently, the border gates of Quang Ninh Province are still applying strict Covid-19 prevention and control measures, ensuring a green zone with low risks of Covid transmission and strictly adhering to the pandemic prevention agreement between Vietnam and China.
