HCMC – The Party Central Committee has decided to dismiss Nguyen Van Doc, former secretary of the Quang Ninh Party Committee, and Nguyen Duc Long, former chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, from all their posts in the Party.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on October 5 to review and enforce disciplinary measures for the Party organization and Party members that committed violations and wrongdoing while on duty.
The Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board in the 2015-2020 term violated the principles and regulations of the Party, and failed to have adequate leadership, resulting in multiple Party organizations and State entities violating Party rules and State laws.
Specifically, Nguyen Van Doc, former secretary of the Quang Ninh Party Committee, and former chairman of the People’s Council and of the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province, violated the principles of democratic centralism, Party rules, the working rules of the Provincial Party Committee, and the regulations on what Party members are banned from doing and on Party members’ responsibility of acting as role models.
Doc signed or allowed his subordinates to sign several documents that violated Party rules and State laws. He also lacked responsibility, leadership, and guidance, which led to numerous violations in the projects and contracts carried out by Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) and FLC Group Joint Stock Company, hence significant financial losses to the State budget.
For the same violations and wrongdoing, Nguyen Duc Long, former chairman of the People’s Council and of the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province; Dang Huy Hau, former member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee, and former deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Council; and Vu Thi Thu Thuy, former member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Executive Board, and former deputy chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, were also stripped of all Party posts.
Vu Xuan Dien, member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee, and former Director of the Provincial Department of Health in Quang Ninh Province; Nguyen Ngoc Thu, former member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Executive Board, and former director of theDepartment of Natural Resources and Environment; Tran Van Hung, former member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Executive Board, former director of the Department of Planning and Investment, also lost their posts in the Party.
