HCMC – The government of Quang Tri Province yesterday, April 29, started work on a VND2.06-trillion seaside road, which will connect to the Quang Tri east-west economic corridor.
The provincial Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects serves as the developer of the seaside road project. Of the total investment, nearly VND1.644 trillion is backed by the central budget and over VND410 billion comes from the provincial budget.
The 55-kilometer project will be implemented from 2021 to 2025.
In the first phase, the project will run across four localities in the central province, namely the districts of Vinh Linh, Gio Linh, Trieu Phong and Dong Ha City, with a total length of 48 kilometers.
Along with National Highway No.1 and the north-south expressway, the seaside road, once in place, is expected to boost the regional connectivity in terms of sea economic development, help attract tourists, prevent natural disasters and aid rescue operations and contribute to the establishment and development of satellite urban areas along the route.
