HCMC – Quang Tri Province now allows international visitors to enter and exit through seven border gates using e-visa, following a new government resolution issued on December 2.
Resolution No. 389/NQ-CP expands e-visa access to 41 international gateways nationwide, including four airports, 11 land border checkpoints, and 26 seaports.
With this expansion, Quang Tri now has three seaports—Gianh, Hon La, and Cua Viet—added to the list, raising the province’s total e-visa-enabled entry points to seven, covering air, land, and sea routes.
Four of these gateways—Dong Hoi Airport, Lao Bao International Border Gate, La Lay International Border Gate, and Cha Lo International Border Gate—have accepted e-visas since August 2023.
Provincial authorities said the broader e-visa access creates significant opportunities to attract more international travelers, especially cruise passengers and higher-spending tourist segments.
Quang Tri has nearly 200 kilometers of coastline and diverse tourism resources, including ecological, nature-based, cultural, historical, agricultural, and sports tourism products. The province has been regarded as a promising destination for cruise tourism.
In the first 11 months of 2025, Quang Tri welcomed around 9.6 million visitors, up nearly 17% year-on-year. Domestic travelers accounted for more than 9.1 million arrivals, while international visitors reached about 450,000.
Tourism revenue was estimated at VND11.04 trillion, a rise of 31.7% compared to the same period last year. The province aims to receive more than 15 million visitors by 2030.
