The Privy Council, the highest advisory body of the Nguyen Dynasty, has reopened as a cultural site within the Imperial City of Hue following extensive restoration.

Established in 1834 by Emperor Minh Mang, the council evolved from a temporary military body into the monarchy’s central political and diplomatic institution. Its front hall hosted meetings of senior officials, while the rear hall was reserved for sensitive defense and diplomatic discussions.
The double-roofed structure, known for its ornate imperial architecture, recently hosted a special exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day.
