HCMC – On December 27, the “Saigon Times – Great Circle ” campaign continued its mission of spreading compassion by providing scholarships and gifts to students in Tuy An Dong Commune, Dak Lak Province (formerly in Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province).

The campaign delivered scholarships and relief packages to 860 students facing severe hardships following the recent devastating floods. The recipients were students from An Ninh Dong 1 Primary School, An Ninh Dong 2 Primary School, and Le Duan Primary-Secondary School.

Apart from scholarships, donations included essential items for daily life and education, such as blankets, warm coats, rice cookers, backpacks, and notebooks, totaling nearly VND437 million. These contributions aim to help teachers and students quickly stabilize their lives and return to their studies after the natural disaster.

Tran Thi Thu Thuy, chairperson of the Saigon Times Club, said the historic floods in Dak Lak caused immense loss and disrupted the lives of local residents, especially families with school-aged children. Driven by a spirit of solidarity and social responsibility, the “Saigon Times – Great Circle” campaign called upon businesses and philanthropists to join hands in supporting the community to overcome these challenging times.

Previously, on November 28, the program awarded 464 scholarships plus gifts to students and teachers at Huong Tan Primary School and residents of Khe Sanh Commune, Quang Tri Province. This marked another milestone in the Saigon Times Group’s long-standing journey of accompanying disadvantaged communities across Vietnam.
