Saigon Times – Great Circle to aid students affected by typhoon Yagi

HCMC – The “Saigon Times – Great Circle – Helping Students Get Back to School Post Storm” program has been launched to encourage students to return to school and assist schools in recovering from the damage caused by typhoon Yagi.

Typhoon Yagi, the third to hit Vietnam this year, caused tremendous damage in the northern region. The resulting floods led to numerous deaths, destroyed homes, and disrupted livelihoods. Many children have been unable to attend school due to the devastation.

With many parents unable to afford school supplies, clothing, or notebooks, and several schools heavily damaged, students have been unable to resume their studies.

The “Saigon Times – Great Circle” program aims to motivate students to return to school and support the recovery of schools affected by the storm and floods.

The organizers will visit schools to distribute gifts, including cash and essential supplies, to students. They will also assess the damage to schools to provide funding for repairs, teaching supplies, and furniture needed for the current school term.
