HCMC – Samsung Vietnam and Junior Achievement Vietnam (JA Vietnam) launched the 2025 edition of the Solve for Tomorrow competition in southern Vietnam with a roadshow in HCMC on May 30.
The campaign was previously kicked off in northern Vietnam in late March and in the central region in mid-May.
Solve for Tomorrow is a nationwide STEM education competition for middle and high school students, guided by their teachers. The initiative encourages students to tackle real-world social issues using science, technology, engineering, and math, combined with artificial intelligence (AI) and design thinking.
This year, participants are invited to propose innovative solutions in one of three focus areas: advancing environmental sustainability through technology, combining sports and technology to drive social change (especially in education and future development), and applying technology for sustainable social progress.
Launched in Vietnam in 2019, the contest has become an annual platform for students aged 12 to 18 to showcase creativity and critical thinking. By the end of 2024, the competition had attracted nearly 480,000 students and teachers and received almost 7,500 project submissions.
The 2025 edition runs for eight months, from March 28 to October 31, and is divided into two categories: Category A for middle school students and Category B for high school students. The contest features three rounds, with participants gaining access to online and in-person training sessions held across all three regions of Vietnam.
This year’s prize pool is valued at nearly VND6 billion (around US$236,000), offering a wide range of awards. In addition, schools with first-prize-winning teams will receive a STEM Lab sponsored by Samsung Vietnam, worth US$60,000.
