HCMC – Samsung Vietnam has donated VND10 billion to support the recovery of northern provinces hit by typhoon Yagi.
The donation was presented to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on September 17.
VFF Chairman Do Van Chien received the money on behalf of the affected regions, stating that the donation would be distributed to the communities hardest hit by the storm.
At the handover ceremony, Choi Joo Ho, general director of Samsung Vietnam, expressed his deep condolences over the losses caused by the typhoon.
“I am deeply saddened by the losses caused by typhoon Yagi. On behalf of Samsung Vietnam’s leadership and employees, I offer our heartfelt sympathies. We hope the damage will be swiftly tackled, and the affected families and communities will soon recover from this tragedy,” he said.
Samsung launched an internal fundraising campaign on September 9, encouraging employees to donate through CSR kiosks and other channels. The initiative has seen strong participation from staff across the company.
By 5 p.m. on September 15, nearly VND1.1 trillion had been raised through donations from organizations and individuals via direct contributions and bank transfers to the VFF’s Central Relief Committee to aid those impacted by the storm.
