“Today’s children – Tomorrow’s world.” Guided by this belief, Shinhan Life Vietnam places young people at the heart of its social initiatives. From day one in Vietnam, the company began working to give children — especially those in disadvantaged circumstances — access to tools, resources, and opportunities that help them grow with confidence and purpose.
A significant milestone came in February 2025, when the company signed a memorandum of understanding with SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam, cementing a long-term commitment to support vulnerable children. Over the years, Shinhan Life Vietnam has reached out to SOS Villages in Hanoi, Danang, Go Vap, and Ben Tre, offering practical assistance such as renovated playgrounds, new computers, and essential supplies. Among its notable efforts is the iLead education program, which helps children in SOS Villages discover personal values, develop leadership skills, and prepare for the future.
The company also partners with SIF Career to run the S-Career program, a career orientation series for high school students. Now in its second year, S-Career has guided more than 2,000 students and 200 teachers through a blend of theory and real-world insights shared by Shinhan Life Vietnam’s managers. The program has earned praise for its practical value and is expected to expand nationwide.
In August 2025, the company introduced the S-Cellence Scholarship, a new initiative designed for final-year university students. Each recipient received VND10 million in financial aid, with five top candidates earning internships at Shinhan Life Vietnam. Nearly 200 students applied in the program’s first year — a promising start to what will become a platform for nurturing talent and preparing graduates for the workplace.
Supporting health and well-being
As a life and health insurer, Shinhan Life Vietnam has deeply invested in protecting people’s health. Alongside education, healthcare has become a core focus of its community efforts.
Every year, the company provides medical fee support to pediatric cancer patients at Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital. Over the past three years, this initiative has contributed VND600 million, aiding 45 children in receiving timely treatment.
But support extends beyond financial aid. Company leaders and employees regularly visit hospitals to deliver gifts, meals, and encouragement. General Director Mr. Bae Seung Jun has personally joined these visits, sharing warm words and meals with patients and their families to bring comfort during challenging times.
The company also offers financial protection through more than 50,000 free “Shinhan – An Binh” pediatric leukemia insurance policies, distributed since its market entry. Each policy provides up to VND100 million in coverage, ensuring that families across Vietnam have access to crucial support with just a simple registration.
In addition, Shinhan Life Vietnam joins hands with five Shinhan Financial Group companies in Vietnam for the annual “One Blood” donation drive. Each drop of blood collected offers patients another chance to overcome hardship and pursue their dreams.
