HCMC – Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort, a five-star resort committed to sustainable development, has donated VND70 million to support the “Saigon Times – Great Circle – Sharing love, weathering storms and floods” campaign organized by the Saigon Times Group.
Ha Thi Dieu Vien, general manager of Silk Sense, said that this amount was directly contributed by the resort’s guests, partners, and the community during the “Green Christmas – Lighting Ceremony 2024” event held by the resort on December 2. This event is an annual tradition that marks the moment the Christmas tree is lit and signals the start of the festive season at Silk Sense.
In pursuit of a sustainable development model, Silk Sense selects a meaningful theme each year to spread positive values to the community. In 2023, the program focused on the message of environmental protection and waste reduction. In 2024, Silk Sense continued to expand this spirit into a culture–community theme, aiming to honor Hoi An’s local identity and encourage the preservation of traditional values.
During the program, guests directly participated in folk cultural activities such as making handmade cards, herbal candles, and local craft products, and experiences associated with Hoi An craft villages, offering a rustic, warm, and deeply local cultural touch. Additionally, folk-inspired performances celebrated the Vietnamese spirit and offered international visitors a rich cultural immersion.
At the event, Silk Sense launched an appeal to support flood-affected communities in central Vietnam, receiving strong support from guests, partners, and the community. After the event, Silk Sense announced the transfer of this money to the Saigon Times Group’s campaign, which reached students and residents who faced difficulties during the recent storms and floods.
Previously, on November 28, the “Saigon Times – Great Circle” campaign delivered 464 scholarships, along with many essential gifts, to students and teachers at Huong Tan Primary School and to residents in Khe Sanh – a border commune in Quang Tri Province. Silk Sense also participated in this handover with over 40 blankets.
