Through the implementation of Waste2Green (W2G) organic waste recycling technology and other sustainable practices, the five-star Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort processed 23,976 kilograms of organic waste into 10,260 kilograms of compost in 2024.

This initiative reduces the volume of waste sent to landfills, produces compost for the resort’s Caman Village vegetable garden, and minimizes the use of chemical fertilizers. Additionally, it lowers waste treatment costs and enhances environmental quality at the resort. W2G utilizes a smart electric composter capable of converting organic waste into compost within 24 hours.

Silk Sense’s representative announced this information at an event held on March 10 by the resort in collaboration with Autotech Machinery JSC, the developer of W2G technology and composter. During the event, Silk Sense and Autotech signed a cooperation agreement following the successful trial of W2G in October 2023.

Under the agreement, the two parties will not only expand organic waste treatment activities at Silk Sense but also assist tourism businesses in Hoi An in adopting this technology. The goal is to reduce organic waste disposal, lower waste treatment costs, and promote the use of organic fertilizers in agriculture and landscaping. This initiative also supports Hoi An’s broader sustainability efforts.
