HCMC – Singapore looks to cooperate with the southern key economic region of Vietnam in the field of food security, said Singapore’s Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam at a meeting with Nguyen Van Nen, secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, today afternoon (November 5).
During the meeting, Nen noted that Vietnam and Singapore’s cooperation has achieved remarkable results and still holds significant potential for further development.
HCMC is centering on digital transformation, green transformation, and energy transformation, he added.
Nen said that the southern key economic region, with HCMC as its core, has been allowed to pilot specific policies and mechanisms to create breakthroughs. This area is well-suited for implementing large-scale projects, especially in light of the upcoming launch of the railway network and the Trans-Asian transport corridor from HCMC to Tay Ninh and Phnom Penh.
In response, Jaya Ratnam highly values the remarkable progress in the relationship between the two countries. He hopes that Vietnam and Singapore can elevate their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2025.
He believed that the cooperative relationship between Singapore and the southern key economic region will reach new heights following the successful implementation of the offshore renewable energy export project from Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Singapore.
He also expressed hopes that Singapore will be able to collaborate with the southern key economic region in the field of food security.
