Standard Chartered Vietnam names first local CEO

HCMC – Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Nguyen Thuy Hanh as its first Vietnamese CEO for Vietnam, with effect from October 1.

With 30 years of experience, Hanh will lead the bank’s Vietnam operations as CEO and head of Banking and Coverage.

She succeeds Michele Wee, who is credited with leading Standard Chartered Vietnam through a period of robust growth and a stronger focus on sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, according to the bank.

Hanh held various leadership roles within the bank, including head of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) for Vietnam. Under her leadership, the CIB segment delivered profitable and sustainable growth, emphasizing the bank’s cross-border strategy.
