HCMC – Nutifood has named Dai Dung Metallic Manufacture Construction and Trade Corporation as the contractor to manufacture, supply and install the steel structure for the pedestrian bridge over the Saigon River.

The bridge, gifted by Nutifood to mark its 25th anniversary, is designed to become a new cultural and architectural landmark in downtown HCMC. The steel structure package, part of the main bridge construction, is considered the core element of the project and is expected to ensure durability, safety, and precision.

Dai Dung, a steel and mechanical engineering corporation with projects in more than 60 countries, will apply advanced technology and resources to meet quality and schedule commitments, the company said. Its portfolio includes major international works such as Japan’s Nihonbashi building, Australia’s Powerhouse Parramatta, and Qatar’s Lusail Stadium.

HCMC Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong said the Nipa palm leaf-shaped bridge will enhance the cityscape and could become a regional icon. He praised Nutifood and its partners for their efforts in driving the project forward.

Nutifood is also selecting a contractor for the lower bridge structure, the final package in the second construction phase. Earlier, the company signed with CC1 to build access roads and approach bridges.

The project, supported by Japanese design and engineering partners, is scheduled for completion in 2026.
