HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has established a national steering committee to implement a Politburo resolution on the development of the state business sector.
Decision No. 204 established the National Steering Committee to implement Resolution 79-NQ/TW issued on January 6, 2026, on the development of the state business sector.
Chinh will head the committee. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung will serve as the permanent deputy head, alongside Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and Finance Minister Nguyen Van Thang as deputy heads.
The committee is tasked with inter-agency coordination and assisting the prime minister in studying, directing and resolving major cross-sector issues related to state economic development.
The Finance Ministry will act as the standing agency for the committee and will form a working group to support its operations.
The committee held its first meeting on February 1 to discuss a draft government action plan to implement Resolution 79, a draft National Assembly resolution on special mechanisms and policies for developing the state business sector, and the committee’s operating regulations.
At the meeting, Chinh urged ministries, agencies and local authorities to implement the resolution flexibly and proactively in line with their mandates, contributing to double-digit economic growth in 2026 and beyond.
Officials emphasized the need for effective implementation of Resolution 79 amid global uncertainty, calling for clearer action plans, stronger coordination and timely execution to meet targets for the 2026–2030 period.
