HCMC – Storm Bualoi has entered the East Sea and is expected to intensify over the weekend, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
The storm crossed the central Philippines early Friday with sustained winds at level 11 and gusts up to level 14. It is moving west-northwest at about 30 km/h and is expected to reach the East Sea later today.
By Saturday, Bualoi could strengthen to level 13, with gusts up to level 16, affecting the northern and central East Sea, including the Paracel Islands, and waters off Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces.
On Sunday, the storm is forecast near Vietnam’s northern coast with winds at level 12 and gusts up to level 15. It may gradually weaken next week while maintaining its west-northwest track.
Authorities warned of rough seas, waves up to seven meters, and dangerous conditions for vessels operating offshore.
