HCMC – Thanh Thanh Cong-Bien Hoa JSC, which trades its SBT shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, will issue over 44 million shares to pay the dividend of the 2021-2022 fiscal year to its existing shareholders.

The sugar producer will begin its issue in December this year, the local media reported.

With the stock dividend payment at 7%, each shareholder will get seven new shares for every 100 shares held.

Between July 1, 2021 and June 30 this year, SBT posted VND18.3 trillion in revenue, up 23% year-on-year, and over VND1 trillion in before-tax profit, up 28% year-on-year.

As of late June, the firm’s total assets had reached some VND27.5 trillion, up 34% against early July last year.

Despite its positive results in business, SBT ended 0.78% lower in the trading session today, August 16.

On the southern bourse, the VN-Index added 0.49 points, or 0.04%, from the session earlier, at 1,274.69, with 206 winners and 240 losers.

Nearly 618 million shares worth VND14.9 trillion changed hands, inching down 3% in both volume and value against the previous session.

In the VN30 basket, steelmaker HPG maintained its uptrend to end up 2.3% and took the lead by liquidity on the southern bourse with a matching volume of 65.5 million shares.

The Hanoi bourse closed the day on a downbeat note, with 78 gainers and 114 decliners. The HNX-Index fell 0.95 point, or 0.31%, from the day earlier, at 303.02, due to bluechips.
