At Frasers Property Vietnam, a subsidiary of the global Frasers Property Group headquartered in Singapore, sustainability is a key factor behind its business development. The group has therefore set the target that 80% of all buildings under its management worldwide will be green-certified by 2024 and net-zero carbon recorded by 2050.

The most important of these responsibilities is that we manage the company to ensure that our development will be continuing to benefit the people and communities across the markets we operate in, while taking care of the environment,” says Lim Hua Tiong, CEO at Frasers Property Vietnam.
With almost 20 years of business in Vietnam, the property developer’s presence includes Melinh Point – a grade A boutique 21-storey office building in District 1, and Q2 Thao Dien – a luxury mixed-use development in District 2. Frasers Property’s hospitality business also has set foothold in Vietnam, with Frasers Suites Hanoi and Capri by Fraser.
Melinh Point has begun a major asset enhancement initiative, in a bid to optimize the asset’s value. As the Group’s strategic goal is to be carbon-neutral by 2050, Melinh Point aims to upgrade this building to be the first operational building in Vietnam to achieve Singapore’s Building & Construction Authority’s Green Mark Building Platinum certification.
This initiative saw Melinh Point’s hardware refreshed with sustainability as a key focus, such as upgrading the entire mechanical and electrical system and replaced the air-cooled chiller system with a more energy-efficient water-cooled one. Furthermore, the building has also upgraded the central heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system to improve indoor air quality.
In addition, waste reduction and waste recycling are also a top-priority green action for the building – separating all waste at source including food waste, recyclable waste and hazardous.
Aside from making efforts to align its business goals with sustainable development goals, Frasers Property Vietnam has attached great importance to social activities, aiming at building a better community.
In early August this year, the firm in coordination with the HCMC Red Cross Society organized a blood donation program in HCMC’s District 1, to raise awareness of community blood donation drives to support health facilities throughout the country. As a result, over 100 units of blood donated by employees working at the Melinh Point building were collected at the event.
Besides this, Me Linh Point Ltd., a joint venture between Sabeco Group and Frasers Property Vietnam, on July 14 this year donated 20 thermal cameras worth over VND1 billion to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC to assist with Vietnam’s efforts to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
