Concerns mount despite success

As 2025 has begun, Vietnam continues to solidify its position as the world’s leading exporter of Robusta coffee, building on its remarkable achievements in 2024 despite fierce competition in the global market Vietnam’s farm, forestry, and fishery exports soared to a record high of US$62.5 billion in 2024, with coffee exports contributing approximately 9% and achieving several significant “firsts.” Many “firsts” In 2024, Vietnam exported about 1.32 million tons of coffee, earning total revenue of US$5.48 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The price of raw coffee in Vietnam’s key production areas, particularly the Central Highlands, experienced a continuous surge throughout 2024. At the start of the 2023-2024 crop, raw coffee prices hovered around VND60 million per ton.
