HCMC – Over 200,000 local and international passengers travelled through the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC on the first two days of the Lunar New Year, or January 22 and 23, higher than the pre-Tet period.
On January 23 alone, the airport received some 770 flights, with 748 transporting passengers.
Among these passengers, outbound air passengers numbered 16,800, while there were 15,000 passengers on board inbound flights.
Besides, the airport handled some 100,000 passengers on board a total of more than 700 flights on the first day of the Lunar New Year, or January 22.
Among them, nearly 31,000 passengers travelled through the international passenger terminal.
The demand for travel on the Tet holiday recovered post Covid. Despite a surge in the number of passengers passing through the Tan Son Nhat airport, the airport’s domestic and international terminals remained smooth due to multiple effective measures, according to the Southern Airports Authority.
