HCMC – The southern province of Tay Ninh has broken ground on the Thu Thua Industrial Park, the first such project since its merger with neighboring Long An, with total investment of nearly VND3 trillion.

Covering 170.7 hectares in Thu Thua Commune, the industrial park (IP) is located around 45 kilometers from HCMC, offering convenient access to expressways and ports. The project will be developed in two phases, with the first slated for completion by late 2025 and the second between 2026 and 2027.

Le Thanh Tung, chairman of the Board of Directors of Thu Thua Industrial Zone and Urban Development JSC (IDTT), said the IP will be built to modern, environmentally friendly standards, serving manufacturing value chains.

Nguyen Van Ut, chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, said the IP aims to attract investment in processing and manufacturing, supporting industries, electronics, logistics, and high-tech agriculture. It will apply green and smart standards and offer integrated services for both businesses and workers.

Once completed, the IP is expected to create 20,000–25,000 jobs, boost budget revenue, and accelerate economic restructuring.

The groundbreaking is among Tay Ninh’s projects to mark Vietnam’s National Day on September 2. The province plans to start additional projects worth a combined VND100 trillion before the holiday, including the TL.827E road and the HCMC–Long An–Tien Giang economic corridor.
