HCMC – State-owned MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation will be transferred from the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) to the Ministry of Public Security, according to a recent government directive.
On February 27, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc signed Document No. 223, outlining the transfer of state capital ownership at MobiFone.
The Government has instructed CMSC and the Ministry of Public Security to carry out the transfer in compliance with regulations, ensuring transparency and preventing misconduct, conflicts of interest, or legal violations.
Established in 1993, MobiFone was Vietnam’s first telecom operator. It was initially managed by the Ministry of Information and Communications until 2014, when it was transferred to CMSC in 2018.
MobiFone is one of Vietnam’s leading telecommunications, information technology, and digital content enterprises, operating a top-tier mobile network with a market share exceeding 30%.
Apart from MobiFone, 18 other corporations and companies will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance after the CMSC ceases operations.
