HCMC – More than 1.1 million people attended the Lunar New Year (Tet) Book Street Festival 2026 over eight days, generating nearly VND8.2 billion in revenue and selling over 83,700 books, according to organizers.
The festival was held at three locations: Le Loi Boulevard in Saigon Ward, the New City Park in Binh Duong Ward, and the Revolutionary Tradition House in Vung Tau Ward.
The Le Loi Boulevard site drew more than one million visitors. The New City Park recorded around 100,000 visitors, while nearly 15,000 people attended events at the Revolutionary Tradition House.
Total revenue reached nearly VND8.2 billion. More than 17,700 book titles were introduced, with about 83,700 copies sold.
At Le Loi Boulevard, organizers staged more than 80 activities, including 15 stage programs, 20 themed exhibitions, and over 30 workshops. The venue also featured spaces highlighting AI and AR books, digital libraries, and other technology-based reading formats.
In Binh Duong Ward, activities included a Spring newspaper exhibition, a traditional calligraphy space, and a children’s reading area.
The Vung Tau Ward venue showcased materials on local revolutionary history, marine economic development, and communications related to seas and islands.
As part of the early-year tradition, nearly 2,000 books, newspapers, and magazines were distributed through various formats, including QR code downloads for audiobooks, automated book dispensers, and direct giveaways.
