HCMC – Vietnamese car maker and distributor Thaco Auto has introduced the Peugeot 408 model to the local market.
The model has a design that combines the sport utility vehicle coupe style with a new brand identity of Peugeot. The LED lighting system features a distinctive design reminiscent of fangs and three lion claws.
Inside the Peugeot 408, its new i-cockpit design provides ample space, clear visibility, and a user-friendly touch display screen. Built on the 3008 chassis, this car model offers various enhancements, including weight reduction, improved sound insulation, and enhanced stability.
The Peugeot 408 is equipped with a 1.6 Turbo Puretech engine and an advanced 8-speed automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 8.8 seconds.
In Vietnam, the Peugeot 408 model is available in three versions: Allure, Premium and GT. Customers can choose from five color options, with recommended prices ranging from VND999 million to VND1,249 million.
The Peugeot 408 joins Peugeot’s lineup in Vietnam, alongside three crossover sport utility vehicle models: Peugeot 2008, 3008 and 5008.
Since 2013, Peugeot has partnered with Thaco Auto to facilitate the transfer of technology for Peugeot vehicle production, assembly, and exclusive distribution in the Vietnamese market.
Over the past decade, Thaco Auto has sold over 35,000 Peugeot cars to local customers. In 2022, Peugeot’s auto sales reached a record high of 10,000 vehicles, solidifying its position as a leading European car brand in Vietnam’s automotive market.
