HCMC – Thai Nguyen Province has broken ground on the TNG Viet Bac social housing project, a VND1.23 trillion development expected to deliver more than 1,000 units for low-income earners.

TNG Land JSC started construction on the project in Tich Luong Ward on February 23. The project covers nearly 1.9 hectares and has two 22-story blocks and 26 adjacent commercial townhouses.

The development will supply apartments ranging from 30 to 70 square meters. It is designed to house about 2,400 residents. Construction is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

The project will include community areas, a kindergarten, basement parking, and green spaces. Technical and social infrastructure will be built alongside the housing.

Provincial authorities have applied a fast-track administrative mechanism for social housing projects. The policy aims to shorten approval timelines while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.

Nguyen Linh, vice chairman of the Thai Nguyen People’s Committee, noted that the province has approved 13 social housing projects with more than 17,000 units.

Under its social housing plan for 2026–2030, the province intends to develop 48 projects, targeting 45,000 to 60,000 units.
