BANGKOK – Thailand has kicked off its premier food and beverage trade fair, THAIFEX–Anuga Asia 2025, positioning itself as a future global food hub under the “Thai Kitchen to the World” strategy.

Minister of Commerce Pichai Naripthaphan joined the opening ceremony at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani on May 27, highlighting Thailand’s ambitions to boost food exports and strengthen international trade partnerships.

The five-day event, co-hosted by the Thai Ministry of Commerce’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse, is expected to draw over 90,000 trade visitors from 140 countries.

“Thailand’s strengths in agricultural resources, food culture, and production capacity have long supported its status as a key player in the global food market,” said Minister Pichai. “We expect export value in 2025 to reach 1.75 trillion baht, up 6.8% year-on-year.”

The trade fair, now ranked as the fourth largest of its kind globally, has expanded significantly in scale. This year’s edition features over 3,200 exhibitors from Thailand and 56 other countries, showcasing innovations across more than 6,200 booths. Product categories span agricultural goods, processed foods, food technologies, and related services.

Vietnam is also making a strong presence at the event, with more than 170 companies showcasing export products across a wide range of sectors, including seafood, beverages, processed foods, fruits, agricultural products, coffee, confectionery, rice, cashew nuts, and spices.

The event is projected to generate trade deals worth more than 98 billion baht (about US$2.99 billion), including both on-site agreements and follow-up orders within the next year.

THAIFEX–Anuga Asia 2025 runs from May 27 to 31, with trade days through May 30 and a public opening on May 31. Alongside product exhibitions, the event includes seminars and showcases on emerging food trends, consumer behavior, and innovation.

Organizers said the event underscores Thailand’s readiness to serve as a trusted food reserve and regional service industry hub, backed by strong infrastructure, business networks, and government support.

In addition to a comprehensive showcase of food and beverage products across all categories, the event features special exhibitions, seminars, and curated activities designed to update attendees on the latest food trends, shifting consumer demands, and other valuable industry insights, creating a fresh, forward-looking experience that supports business growth and long-term success.
