As property prices in Hanoi and HCMC soar, for many residents, owning a home is becoming impossible. Experts say addressing the gap requires expanding supply in undersupplied segments, improving infrastructure, and diversifying financing options. For a 50-square-meter social housing unit, buyers would spend VND750 million to VND1.25 billion. “With monthly income of around VND10 million, the dream of homeownership is nearly out of reach”, said Nguyen Van Khoi, chairman of the Vietnam Real Estate Association.
