HCMC – Vietnam Railways has suspended three North-South passenger trains as Storm Kajiki is approaching the coast of central Vietnam.
The affected services include the NA1 and NA2 trains between Hanoi City and the former Vinh City, Nghe An Province, and the SE9 train from Hanoi City to HCMC. NA1, scheduled to depart Hanoi City at 9:50 p.m., NA2 from Vinh at 9:30 p.m., and SE9 from Hanoi City at 12:50 p.m., were all canceled.
Passengers can claim full refunds at railway stations within 30 days without any fees.
Other services, including SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE10, SE11/SE12, and SE19/SE20, continue to operate through provinces in the north-central region, which is expected to be hit hard by the storm.
The Ministry of Construction has directed agencies to step up storm preparedness. Vietnam Railways and the Vietnam Railway Authority were told to increase monitoring at vulnerable locations and prepare plans to suspend or adjust services if flooding or landslides disrupt operations.
