Thuan Duc cancels 16.6 million unsold shares

HCMC – Thuan Duc Joint Stock Company (HOSE: TDP) has cancelled nearly 16.6 million shares after its recent rights offering to existing shareholders saw low subscription, with only 24.8% of the registered shares sold.

In a report on the share issue, the company said it had distributed 5,477,324 shares out of the 22,055,562 shares offered. The remaining 16,578,238 shares found no buyers.

Thuan Duc attempted to allocate the unsubscribed shares to other investors, but no additional subscriptions were recorded by the end of the offering period. As a result, the entire remaining volume has been cancelled.

Closing the trading session today, February 12, TDP shares edged down 1.35% to VND33,000, losing VND450 against the previous session. Some 360,300 shares were traded, with the firm’s market capitalization amounting to VND2.91 trillion.

The VN-Index rose 17.24 points, or 0.96%, to close at 1,814.09 points, with 177 stocks advancing and 135 declining. Total trading volume reached 498.3 million shares worth VND16.2 trillion, down 56.5% in volume and 49.3% in value compared to the previous session. Put-through transactions accounted for 51.2 million shares valued at VND1.65 trillion.

The VN30 basket saw 14 gainers and 12 losers, but still added more than 15 points by the close. Vingroup-related stocks were the main contributors, with VHM rising 5.8%, VIC up 5.4%, and VRE gaining 1.9%.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added 0.62 point, or 0.24%, to close at 256.48 points, with 81 advancers and 58 decliners. Trading volume totaled 46.3 million shares worth VND875 billion, including 2.36 million shares valued at VND39.6 billion in put-through deals.
