HCMC – Toll collection on the Dien Chau–Bai Vot Expressway, a key section of the North-South Expressway, will commence on January 5.
Having a total length of over 50 kilometers, the build-operate-transfer (BOT) expressway connects the north-central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
The project required an investment of over VND11.1 trillion. Construction began in May 2021, and the route was completed and approved for operation on December 27, 2024, according to the Government news site baochinhphu.vn.
Since its partial opening in June 2024, the expressway has served 3.5 million vehicles free of charge. Starting January 5, tolls will apply to the entire road, covering the section from Km 430+000 to the National Highway 8A interchange, announced Phuc Thanh Hung Investment JSC, the project developer.
Four toll stations equipped with non-stop electronic toll collection systems have been installed along the route. These are located at Km 430+500 in Dien Chau, the Nghi Phuong interchange in Nghi Loc, the National Highway 46B interchange in Hung Nguyen, and the National Highway 8A interchange in Duc Tho, allowing for automated and efficient toll processing.
The Dien Chau–Bai Vot Expressway is one of 11 components of the first phase of the North-South Expressway project.
