HCMC – Toll rates for five key sections of the eastern North-South Expressway have been approved and categorized into five vehicle groups, ranging from under-12-seat passenger cars to trucks of 18 tons and over.
Under the framework approved by the Ministry of Construction, the Mai Son–National Highway 54 section, spanning 61.01 kilometers, will charge VND54,909 (approximately US$2.16) for Group I vehicles traveling the full length. For the same route, Group II vehicles will pay VND82,364, while Groups III, IV, and V are set at VND109,817, VND137,273, and VND219,636, respectively. Meanwhile, the National Highway 54–Nghi Son section, with a chargeable length of 45.018 kilometers, will see Group I fees at VND40,516, scaling up to VND162,065 for Group V heavy-duty vehicles.
For the 50.45-kilometer Nghi Son–Dien Chau expressway, the full-route toll for Group I is set at VND45,405, with Group V reaching VND181,620. Longer stretches such as the Vinh Hao–Phan Thiet section, covering 100.618 kilometers, will require a payment of VND90,555 for Group I and up to VND362,225 for Group V. Notably, the Phan Thiet–Dau Giay section, measuring 99 kilometers, has the highest full-route charges among the group, with rates starting at VND128,700 for Group I and peaking at VND514,800 for Group V.
Group I includes passenger vehicles with fewer than 12 seats, trucks with a capacity of under two tons and public buses.Group II comprises vehicles with 12 to 30 seats and trucks from two to under four tons.Group III consists of vehicles with 31 seats or more and trucks from four to under 10 tons.Group IV covers trucks from 10 to under 18 tons and containers under 40 feet.Group V includes trucks of 18 tons and over and 40-foot containers.
