HCMC – All six individuals on board were rescued as a tourist boat caught fire yesterday, August 2, off the shore of Phu Long Commune, Cat Hai District, Haiphong City, the local media reported.
At 5:15 p.m., a fire broke out in the stern of the BHAYA vessel registered in the neighboring province of Quang Ninh. The ship was anchored in the Phu Long coastline waiting for maintenance.
The tailors attempted to control the fire using onboard fire extinguishers, but the flames quickly spread. As a result, they had to leap off the boat for their safety.
Locals and personnel from the Haiphong authorities, including the police and border guard divisions, promptly came to their aid and rescued them from the scene.
An investigation into the fire is currently underway.
