HCMC – Toyota Vietnam has announced a recall of 7,579 Toyota and Lexus vehicles manufactured between 2023 and 2025 to update the software controlling the instrument cluster.
The recall stems from an issue with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which displays key warning lights, speed, and other essential driving information. In some cases, the screen may fail to illuminate when the ignition is switched on, potentially causing drivers to miss critical alerts and increasing safety risks.
According to a notice published on the company’s website, the recall program began on November 17 at all Toyota and Lexus dealerships nationwide.
The affected units span several popular models, including the Toyota Alphard, Camry, Corolla, Corolla Cross, and Lexus LM and LS500. Detailed production periods and quantities for each model have been made publicly available by the automaker.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by authorized dealers to bring in their cars for inspection. Depending on the results, the instrument cluster control software will be updated free of charge. The procedure is expected to take between 1.9 and 2.7 hours per vehicle.
Toyota Vietnam advised customers to visit dealerships as soon as possible to ensure safe operation and recommended scheduling appointments in advance to reduce waiting time.
For grey-market imported vehicles falling under the recall scope, Toyota Vietnam will perform inspections and software updates free of charge once ownership details are verified.
